Happy Birthday Alex!

On the 26th my baby brother Alex turned 20. My brothers, sister, dad and our families all got together at the park in Orem to celebrate. The kids had a blast and it was fun to see the babies together again.

As you can see above, Alex kept pulling faces whenever I pointed the camera at him, but I did get one really nice shot.
Corbin, Jayden & Brad wondering what else they can do to get into trouble. I'm not sure if this was before or after Jayden threw the plate down the storm drain.
Brad doing his daily run.
There was a small duck pond and the kids had fun feeding the ducks the left over rolls.
Brad didn't actually want to feed the ducks...I'm sure that's my fault somehow.

And here's another random cute picture of Lucy. I took this and edited it. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I go back and forth all the time about whether to spend the money to get a nice camera.

Gone Fishin'

Last Saturday we got together with Bryan & Katie and Bryson (who Joe has been friends with since High School) for a little BBQ. Bryan and Katie have 2 boys named Ed and Truman who are very close in age to Brad & Lucy. They live in a great old house in Springville with a huge backyard which has an irrigation ditch running through it. Brad & Ed spent about 2 hours "fishing" in the ditch. No one even fell in (although Brad was soaked up to the knees). Here are some pictures:

This week the tag contest for my mommies message board was "Best Friends" so I made the tag above to enter.

And here's a random cute picture of Lucy, just so she's not left out!

Ok, I panicked, but only a little.

On Thursday night the 4 of us walked to the Dollar Store where Brad and I got some art projects for him to do. We got a couple of little kits that included pom-poms, pipe cleaners and little eyes so you could make animals. That night we made a cute little ladybug.

Anyway, last night Brad was getting into the pom-poms and stuck one up his nose. It was a small black pom-pom about the size of the top of your little finger, but he stuck it up there pretty far. Of course it was uncomfortable and he started crying. I did panic, but only a little. I ran around looking for tweezers and a flashlight. Luckily Joe knew exactly what to do (maybe from experience?) and got Brad to blow it out. Then we all had a nice talk about how you should never put ANYTHING into your nose. At least I know what to do if there is a next time.

Lucy is 4 months old!

Lucy turned 4 months old on Sunday. It's gone by crazy fast. Today I took her to the doctor for her check-up and immunizations. She is doing very well and is right on track with her development. She weighs 13 lbs 6 oz and is 25 3/4 in long. She's much lighter than Brad was at 4 months (18 lbs 10 oz) but she's still about 90th percentile. She didn't cry much when she got her shots. What a trooper.

Here's a tag I made for my mommies message board in honor of her 4 month birthday celebration:

Brad-ism of the day 9/18

Earlier today Brad heard me telling Lucy what cute chubby cheeks she has. He later told Joe, "Look Dad! Lucy's cheeks are so cute and mushy!"

Guess what I did...

I took both kids to a movie...by myself! On Monday night Joe was installing our new front door and Brad just couldn't stand not "helping" so I decided we all needed to get out of his way. We went to the $1.50 theater at the mall and saw "Space Chimps". I give it 2 stars. Lucy slept through most of it and Brad was relatively well behaved. When he did talk and move around I didn't feel too bad because there were only like 6 other people in the theater and they paid $1.50 to get in. What else did they expect?

Silver Lake

Yesterday we wanted to get out of the house and were hoping Brad would take a nap in the car, so we drove up to Silver lake at Brighton Ski Resort. It's a really pretty lake and there's a very easy path all the way around the outside. You can walk the whole thing with a stroller. It was nice and cool and the kids enjoyed it.

Brad decided half-way through that he didn't want any more pictures taken so he's hiding in his hood.

Brad's Bird Feeder

There's an episode of Curious George where George makes a bird feeder. Brad has been asking to make one for a week or so and we finally got around to it on Thursday. We made it out of a juice container and Brad put stickers on it. It's very cute. He was very excited because I let him use the glue. We haven't actually seen any birds eating from it yet, but hopefully they will find it soon.

I must be a real mom if I'm willing to help my two-year-old make a bird feeder even though I hate birds.

The Zoo with The Cousins

On Wednesday I took the kids to the zoo with my sister, Tenille, and her kids. We were afraid we would get rained on, but instead it was perfect. It was not too hot and there was hardly anyone there. The animals were all out to say hello and we had a really good time. Joe & I bought a membership this year, so it's the 3rd time Lucy has been to the zoo and she's only 3 months old!
Here are the pics:

All the kids had to have their picture in the Lion's head. This is Brad -

A fun time was had by all!

Ok, I've done it

I've been resisting this for a very long time. I didn't want to have a blog. I'm afraid I'll post to it twice and then never again. I'm afraid it will sound stupid. I'm afraid it will be cheesy...but here it is anyway.

I am doing this to try and keep in touch with friends and family that I don't talk to everyday, but that I know are online all the time. I want all of you to share in our lives and especially to see the kids. I was trying to just use facebook, but it's really not set up for this kind of thing...so here I am.

I hope you enjoy this. I hope it's not dumb. I hope I post to it more than once or twice. Here's to hoping - Nat
