Yesterday we were in the car and Lucy randomly counted to six in Spanish. I’m pretty sure she can’t count to six in English. It made me feel a lot less guilty about the amount of time I let her sit in front of the television watching Diego and Dora. Since our neighborhood is predominantly Spanish-speaking I’m hoping my kids will both learn to speak it and I can benefit vicariously. I’ve been doing Zumba for 10 months now and still don’t have a clue what any of the songs are about because they are all in Spanish…of course somehow I don’t think that I’m going to learn the words of popular workout music on Diego. Maybe I’ll have to start watching MTV America Latina.

That is cool she can count to 6. Jaden and Abbey also watch those and have learned some spanish.
I love it! I remember when John started randomly using Spanish words around the house. I never know what he is saying.
John is going into a Spanish immersion ELP program for elementary school. He will learn to read and write in Spanish. 1/2 of the class will be in Spanish and 1/2 in English. Also half the kids are native Spanish speakers (though they all test at a level appropriate for the ELP program). We are very excited. You should look into something like this for Brad. He would thrive!
That's fabulous Joy! What school is John doing it at? He's such a smarty I bet he'll pick it up so fast. Speaking another language is becoming almost a necessity these days.
Not MTV, honey. Watch the soaps (Novellas). MUCH more entertaining! I have some interactive CD's if you want to use them...
